Nidderdale St Nicholas Frestival Pateley Bridge

Now then just had a few enquiries from guests about events for the Christmas period,so here goes.
Friday 4th Dec. Traditional late night opening for local shops with sword dancers, hot chestnut stall and Santa's grotto. Children's lantern party, carol singing music by the lofthouse & Middlesmoor Silver Band. With live music at the Old Workhouse up to 10.00pm.
Saturday 5th Dec. St. Nicholas will parade through the streets of Pateley Bridge to the Memorial Hall where the St. Nicholas Fair will be held from 10.00am. where the Summerbridge & Dacre Silver Band will be playing plus Santa and his Elves in his Grotto. Also conducted tours of the Theatre, live music in the evening.
Sunday 6th Dec. 'Let's Celebrate' service at St Cuthbert's Church.

Birthday Boy

Happy birthday Hayden best wishes from Grandad and Grandma, for to today pity about the weather, see you later for the party.

Kilnsey Show not far from us on the Farm

Kilnsey Show will be held on Tuesday 1st September, down by the river and over looked by the towering famous Kilnsey Crag. A great day out for all so why not make a day of it.

Ripley Agricultural Show this Saturday August 8th 2009

Thought I might just remind you interested parties about the Ripley Agricultural Show. Its an annual event held in the Grounds of Ripley Castle. The setting is on a gentle sloping part of the parkland by the Lake side. Very easy to get to from us about 10 miles further down Nidderdale, so if you fancy a weekend stay in the B & B give us a bell.

2009 MG Car Event MGOC Northern National at Pateley Bridge

Hi this is a good one for those of you into cars so to remind you that this weekend 1st and 2nd August 09 The MGOC Northern National will be held at Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale on the Show ground.
I have been told this is the 24th event to be held at this venue in Pateley Bridge, a magnificent setting in the valley bottom by the river Nidd.
Why not make a weekend of it and book into a B&B we still have some availability come along there will be a BBQ. and Disco on Saturday in the Show Ground.

Birstwith Show

Don't forget this weekend July 25 th. 2009 Birstwith Village Show will be held in the field near the School.
If you require a stop over just phone.
We are only a few miles up the Dale ie. Nidderdale.

Great Yorkshire Show Harrogate

The Great Yorkshire Show held at Harrogate show ground will be held on

Thesday 14 th July 09 Wednesday 15 th July 09 and Thursday 16 th July 09.

We are only about 15 miles away from Harrogate by road and have accommodation available. Bed and Breakfast as well as a Holiday Cottage.

Sheep Shearing

We have just finished the sheep shearing and moved the flock into different pastures. There was lots of bleating as lambs ran around looking for mum. I am expecting the weather to warm up some.
A good time to start cutting the silage in the fields, a few warm days will be good for the taking.

Brown Trout Fishing

John booked out this morning after a three day break in our bed and breakfast. He came for the fishing and was not dissapointed, he reported back to Mark that the fishing was very good with most fish of taking size, although he returned all of them except for an escapee rainbow from the Trout Farm. The Wilde's put up a great fight as he put it.

Nidderdale Show

The annual Nidderdale Agricultural Show will be held on Monday 21st September 2009. So why not come along for the day or book in our bed and breakfast for a short break.
